Like Father Like Daughter

Took my daughter coyote hunting for the 1st time with just me and her. Didn't take 2 calls on the Ruffidawg and this one came blazing in. I shot and she held the spotlight. She didn't even shake till after I shot. It was an awesome feeling having my 7 year old there to back me up!

Open Season?

AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is considering opening deer hunting in three North Texas counties and another on the upper coast this fall as part of recommended changes to the 2012-13 Statewide Hunting Proclamation.

TPWD staff recommended an open season for deer in Dallas, Collin, Rockwall and Galveston counties during a presentation Wednesday to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission’s Regulations Committee.

Wife can shoot...

So Jamie Stone and Jason Boykin are on a team and hunting there butts off trying to just kill a hog... To make a long story short: Wife (Michelle Stone) wants to hunt so they take her to a different stand, and while they sit in there honey hole waiting for the hogs...BOOM! His wife kills one on her first hunt! Jamie, you may want to rethink when your wife asks if she can be in the Hog Contest, or be a sweet husband and ask her to be in it with you or you can stay at home and watch the kids, cause I'm asking her next year!
About 150 lbs.
And it weighs more than Jamie and Jasons!
Have to kill one to weigh it...

Nice Cutters!

272.8 lbs.
Chase Lasater and Fred Jones
Did I mention they are now in 1st Place!

Another One Bites The Dust

If this hog contest was based on how many hogs you killed I'm sure it would be a slaughter of great proportions...
But one team still doesn't care if it is a big hog or not, they're still pulling the trigger!
Andrew Gage and Cason Caraway
If they do get a hog that places, they might actually
break even from all the bullets they've fired!

Silencers For Everyone!

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission (TPWC) is seeking public comment on a proposed rule change allowing the use of suppressors (also referred to as silencers) on firearms for the hunting of game species. Currently, Texas law permits the use of lawfully-possessed suppressors for all other shooting activities, including the taking of nuisance species. Enactment of this rule change would ensure that hunting is treated the same way as other shooting activities with respect to the use of suppressors, and allow all hunters to reap the many benefits suppressor use provides."

180 Class Pending B&C 8 Point

"On December 1, 2011, on the opening day of the second shotgun season in Illinois, Jason Sanders tagged what will likely be the largest 8-point whitetail in the Boone & Crockett record books. Sanders, a 38-year-old farmer and veteran deer hunter, was hunting on his home farm when he set his sights on this world-class buck of a lifetime."

Diseased or Genetics? Half Black Buck!

If you'll look closely at this deer he has a dark lower half body. I don't know if it's mange or just dark from bad genetics. Any idea? Let me know!

EDIT: Its called melanistic its from overproduction
of pigment in the hair. Very Rare!!
